Love Label at Very (The April Drop)

Last week I was invited along to Very HQ to preview the Love Label collection for April.

The collection, which is available online now, is bright, vibrant and everything you need to fill a Spring/Summer wardrobe. With gorgeous monchrome numbers and bright statement necklaces and cute pastel patterns, the Love Label team have managed to work a huge spectrum of spring trends into this new collection, so there really is something for everyone.

With fellow bloggers Em and Rose - lovely to meet you girls!

At the event, we were lucky enough to meet Love Label's designer and buyer, who told us all about how the collection is created; from the first paper sketches all the way through to manfacture and launch on the site. We had the chance to ask all our burning fashion questions and were given a real insight into how the team builds a new collection every month.

The design team always has its eye on the catwalks and runways around the world but likes to focus on street style, taking a lot of inspiration from outfits they see in their day to day city lives, as well as from fashion blogs. The buyer, Claire, also told us that many of the items in the Love Label collection are produced within the UK, which was another pleasant surprise. Mary Portas would be proud!

The April collection is now live on the Very site. Are there any pieces you have your eye on?

John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE to the rescue

When it comes to hair, I have one sworn enemy. Frizz. If you can give me frizz free hair, your brand will make it in my good books quicker than you can say 'straighteners' and that's exactly what John Frieda have managed to do. Their FRIZZ-EASE range doesn't come with any wild scientific claims, just a clear focus on delivering hair the moisture and shine that it's most likely craving if you straighten your hair as much as I do!

I apply the Intensive Masque everytime I wash my hair, after my usual shampoo and conditioner and leave it to soak for a couple of minutes before washing it out. Even before I come out of the shower, I can already feel a difference in my hair in terms of texture, something which really impressed upon first use. Despite being a reasonably little pot, I've used the product 6 or 7 times and there's still a good amount of product left, again something which I always find promising in a product. I hate products which seem to run out in what seems like days after I've bought them!

I was also recently sent the FRIZZ-EASE serum to try and although it hasn't bowled me over quite like the masque has, I find myself reaching for it more and more often, especially when I have straight hair for nights out. It works just as you'd expect, keeping hair looking sleek and taming any fly-aways. It has that typical 'hairdressers' scent to it as well which I love. Simple things....

Both products are available at Boots and I've also seen that there's a 2 for £8 deal on selected John Frieda haircare at the moment if you're keen to look after your bank balance as well as your hair! I've also come across the brilliant hair tutorials on the John Frieda youtube channel, which I may have attempt at some point if I can muster the courage/patience. If I ever reach hair-bow level, I'll let you know!

What products do you use to keep your hair healthy? Have you tried the FRIZZ-EASE range?

OOTD: A day in Brick Lane

 Top - Topshop | Jeans - H&M | Hoody - Topshop | Coat - Topshop | Shoes - Primark | Nails - Miss Sporty and Models Own

I went up to Brick Lane on Saturday ready for some bowling fun with Witch Skincare and with a bit of a journey on the train there and back and a bit of walking (and serious bowling exercise of course!), I decided to go quite casual. I layered up a grey hoody and a camo jacket - my two latest purchases from Topshop - to keep warm and, rather than piling on the accessories, kept things simple  with my trusty H&M jeans and my bejellewed tee which I cannot stop wearing. I love anything remotely rainbow-y, glittery or sparkly so as soon as I saw it the other week, it was love at first sight. What do you think of it? Do you like to go casual for the weekends or do you prefer to dress up on your days off?

My first stop of the day was at Boudoir Parlour, a new salon set up by the Asma, the founder of Boudoir Lashes which I've blogged about before. She does amazing lash extensions which always look long and full of volume, without looking at all false, and I'd recommend her to anyone wanting to give lash extensions a go!

After my trip to Asma, I did some window shopping, grabbed some lunch and then met up with Shope who was kind enough to take these outfit photos for me. She writes an amazing blog with her sister Shore and they are both absolutely lovely girls. I always have so much fun spending time with them when we meet up! Shope and I wandered around a vintage fair for a little while and picked up a few bargains, before heading to All Star Bowling for the Witch Skincare #FlawlessFriends event with lots of our blogging friends. We were spoilt with crazy amounts of food and had some amazing cocktails too. The Luau was definitely the blogger favourite but I could not work out how to pronounce it for the life of me!!

It was a really lovely day and it was great to catch up with some of the #FlawlessFriends girls. I filmed bits and pieces of the day to give you guys an insight into some of the wonderful things I am lucky enough to be invited to and have posted the vlog on my Youtube channel.

Have you ever been to Brick Lane? What's your favourite place to visit?

Eley Kishimoto X Clarks

Eley Kishimoto, the quirky brand directed by Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, are famous worldwide for their striking prints adorning almost every fashion and homeware item you could ever imagine. Dresses, trousers, bags, handpainted gnomes. Yes, gnomes! You name it, this fashion-savvy pair have probably brightened it with an EK pattern at some point in their incredibly successful careers.

This season, Eley Kishimoto have teamed up with high street giant Clarks to create a Limited Edition capsule collection, based on some of their striking SS13 prints. From March 1st, the nine-piece collection will be available to buy on the Clarks website but if you're hoping to grab a pair, make sure you put the date in your diaries as the collection is set to be a huge hit, with eager customers already signed up to be emailed as soon as the shoes are available.

The monochrome desert boot caught my eye as soon as I saw it at 'Living With Patterns' exhibition at London Fashion Week last year and I have a feeling the 3 desert boots designs will go down a storm, especially with androgyny becoming more and more popular as each season arrives. With prices starting at £69.99, this exclusive collection is to be a brilliant opportunity to add some Eley Kishimoto to your wardrobe without the designer price tag.

Batiste Wild Party Trio

Just when I thought Batiste couldn't get any further into my good books, they've created this trio of dry-shampoo-goodness! There's two new additions, Mamba and Savanna, as well as my all-time favourite Wild. Let's be honest, put something leopard print in a pack and there's a 99% chance I'll buy it. As you'd expect, the mini cans have the typical Batiste formula and are great for revitalising hair or even to add a bit of volume halfway through the day or before a night out.

Perfect as a little Christmas gift, to keep you going through the Christmas-party season or just as a cheeky present to yourself! Go on, it has been a hard old month so far hasn't it?

In Boots stores til December, at £4.99, this cute little trio doesn't break the bank and what's more, there's a chance to win a £300 Motel Rocks voucher as well as an automatic 20% code with every pack!
