Outfit of the Day - Build Me Up Buttercup

Shirt - Internacionale
Cardigan - Matalan
Leggings - Primark
Socks - New Look
Shoes - Converse

In the comfort of my garden, I've been sat revising in my bikini top and shorts but somehow back at sixth form, I don't think that sort of gear would be appreciated! I'm obsessed with denim shirts at the moment so finding this sleeveless one from Internacionale at the back of my wardrobe the other day filled me with cheered me right up. This outfit is basically a combination of everything I'm loving at the moment. Leggings, denim and my beloved Converse. Oh and a knitted cardigan on a ridiculously warm day but I think I've learned my lesson now!

Exam Face

Apart from the very beginning of my everyday makeup video, it is very unlikely that you will have ever or will ever see me completely bare-faced. And believe me, you are not missing out! However, recently I decided to try to give my skin a real chance to clear up and well, breathe. I've heard it can get quite stuffy under all that foundation!

In the midst of my AS exams and I seem to be spending most of my time either sleeping, eating or revising, which means that in the mornings that doesn't really leave much time for major makeup. So I thought I'd start my whole giving-my-face-a-breather plan and have whittled down my routine to 6 products. Which, for the record, I am loving.

I use the Garnier BB cream as a lighter alternative to my foundation. In the words of Nessa off of Gavin and Stacey, I won't lie to you, I haven't tried the 10 trillion different BB creams that seem to be around at the moment but I picked up this one when it first came out and a few months into our relationship, we're still getting on rather well! For concealer, I've turned to the Anti-Blemish Liquid concealer from Witch Skincare in Light 1 which seems (and is) mighty pale but after realising that I am actually quite fair-skinned, is in fact, it's the perfect colour for my foundation-free face. As always, I am addicted to the mango lip balm from Burt's Bees; then with a few dots of my mini Benefit High Beam, a dab of my new Topshop blush in High Five on the apples of my cheeks and a coat or two of my Clinique High Lengths sample and and I'm off out the door for a few hours of exams. The five and a half hours of Economics, ICT and French on Friday were particularly joyful but that's 3 less left to do!

Hope you've found my little makeup routine update enjoyable/useful/interesting and for those of you in the middle of your exams, good luck!

Brand Buzz: A Weathered Penny

At last a jewellery company with gorgeous designs and equally appealing price tags. No more expensive than the likes of Topshop and River Island, A Weathered Penny is a London-based jewellery brand which was founded by the fantastically creative Kayleigh Myers. And with such wonderful jewellery for sale, you'll believe me when I tell you she has fantastic taste too!

Just a quick browse on the website and you'll be making a shopping list in no time. Whether it's the edgy skull bracelets, cute collar tips or huge statement jewellery, A Weathered Penny caters for everyone of all styles and tastes.

The Cradle Necklace is quite possible my favourite of all the A Weathered Penny jewellery. It's limited edition so get your mitts on it quickly! Just make sure you save one for me.

I love how dainty the Howlite Tooth necklace is, and splash of turquoise would make any outfit pop!

Kayleigh told me that she was inspired by all the galaxy prints popping up here, there and everywhere in the fashion world to create the Galaxy Frame necklace and it's been selling like hot cakes ever since!
Both the quality and affordable pricing of the jewellery really stands out for me and I'll definitely be having another browse when payday comes around!

Took a (beauty) trip to Topshop

After months of working hard to save my money, this week, all that saving seemed to go a bit downhill. As some of you may have seen from my collective haul video, I've been doing quite a bit of shopping recently and although, in fairness, some things were just typical essentials (think makeup wipes and nail polish remover), I did also somehow find myself hanging around in Topshop quite a bit. Not in a weird way, just in a I-love-shopping-and-makeup-and-glitter sort of way!

I picked up my first ever Topshop cream blush in High Five and a super sparkly polish in Razzamatazz.

With both little flecks and bigger hexagon-shaped chunks of silver glitter and a slight blue/lilac tinge to the actual polish, two or three nice generous coats look lovely on their own but as usual, with glitter polishes, a slick of Razzamatazz over the top of some of my bright polishes also looks really fun. This will be appearing in lots of NOTDs to come, I'm doubt.

Surprisingly, as much as I loved the glitter polish (you all know The Fashion Freak loves a bit of glitter), the blush was what really stood out to me when I was browsing the Topshop makeup stand. It's a lovely rosy pink and on testing it out, I soon learnt that as it's a cream blush, rather than powder, you only need a tiny bit for a whole lot of colour, so this little pot should last me quite a long time!

Do you use Topshop makeup? If you do, what are your favourite products?

NOTD: Pinky Brown - Models Own Beetlejuice

I've been wearing Models Own polishes non-stop recently. Their range of shades is unbelievable, the formula makes application a breeze and at £5 a bottle, they don't leave much of a dent in my bank balance either.

As much as I love a coat of shatter, a bit of glitter or a slick of something bright, sometimes I fancy a bit of a change and the recent Beetlejuice collection ticks that box completely. I am the proud owner of Pinky Brown, Golden Green and Emerald Black but the first is most definitely my favourite and everytime I wear it, I can't help but spend most of the day sat in a trance, watching my nails change colour everytime I tilt them slightly!

Are you a fan of Models Own? Do you own any of the Beetlejuice collection? And have you been to nail heaven the bottleshop at Westfield?!?!!

My Everyday Makeup #1

The thought of my exams getting closer and all the revision I need to be doing is killing me but as usual, I'm trying super hard to keep up with blog posts and also recently, Youtube! Somehow I've managed to reach the 100 subscriber mark which I am so so happy about! Feels so weird thinking that there's people I don't know sat at home watching me on their computer screen; think that's still going to take some getting used too.

As my first 3 videos have all been be sat chatting about products, I thought I'd mix it up a bit a post a video of my everyday makeup routine. I've speeded it up and chucked a bit of music in the background so hopefully you won't get bored but you'll still be able to get an idea of how I apply my makeup as well as see the products I like to use on a day to day basis! I've embedded the video below (attractive thumbnail, I know.) but if you click the 'Watch on Youtube' option, you can see all the information on the products I use. Please do let me know what you think of this style of video!

NEW Batiste Lace!

Batiste is always keeping up with trends, which means our dressing tables can be just as fashionable as our dresses and this time around it's no different. Fun crochet pieces were all over the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk and in the recent Autumn/Winter shows, dark sophisticated lace was here, there and everywhere so when news of Batiste Lace reached me, I was very excited!

Last week, I was lucky enough to get first glimpse (and sniff!) of the latest addition to the collection at the launch in London in between devouring unbelievably cute cupcakes and being madeover by Brooks+Brooks and beautyuk. Hair products, makeup and cakes? Batiste don't half know the way to my heart.

Batiste Lace has a gorgeous musky scent to it and is definitely the 'grown up' of the Batiste family, whilst the pink and black can looks elegant but still fun. Oh, and the dry shampoo itself? As fantastic as ever!

You can get your hands on a can of Batiste Lace for £2.99 in Superdrug and Boots!

Outfit of the Day - London Calling

On Wednesday, I jumped on the train and headed up to the Batiste Lace launch in London. I was going to be a true Batiste fan and go out and buy a lace dress to wear but time slipped away and before I knew it, it was B-Day. Get it? I know, I'm too funny!

So instead I reached for my latest purchase: a dark blue sheer blouse from New Look. It's a really bold colour so I just threw on some black and let the blouse take centre stage. I teamed it with my favourite ring which I actually wore at London Fashion Week and also one of my favourite necklaces - a weird little gold ballet fox. I didn't actually plan on doing an Outfit Of The Day but my friend Lauren and I had some time to kill in the afternoon and some of you had asked what I'd be wearing so I did a bit of awkward Fashion Freak posing, got some funny looks and then hopped across town for the launch!

Blouse - New Look
Cardigan - H&M
Stirrup leggings - Primark
Boots - Doc Martens
Bag - Miss Selfridge
Ring - Miss Selfridge
Necklace - Miss Selfridge (wow, I love Miss Selfridge don't I?!)
Nail polish - Models Own Pinky Brown from the Beetlejuice collection

The event was fantastic and I'm so glad I wore my Doc Martens as I got off the tube way too early and had to do a bit of a trek through Oxford Street! Look out for my Batiste Lace post tomorrow!
